47-year-old drummer Aaron Spears passed away. On Monday, the news was announced by his wife, Jessica, through an Instagram post from Spears’ handle. Last week, he turned 47.

Spears has worked with artists like Lil Wayne, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Mary Mary, The Backstreet Boys, Chaka Khan, Jordin Sparks, Adam Lambert and Ariana Grande.

Moreover, in 2004, he was nominated for a Grammy for his work on Usher’s 2004 album Confessions. In 2021, he was voted the Pop Drummer of the Year in the 2021 Drumeo Awards.

Many artists have shared their condolences on social media.

Ariana Grande shared an Instagram story in which she wrote, “I can’t wrap my head around this. We were all so incredibly lucky to know Aaron. The absolute brightest light of a human being. Always the kindest, always smiling. I am so honored and thankful that our paths crossed and to have spent so much very special time together. Thank you for your utter brilliance, for our laughs, and for your kindness always. I will miss your hugs. You are so, so loved and will be so very missed.”

 

 

She also commented on his Instagram post shared by Jessica. Along with the drummer Travis Parker.

Justin Bieber also mourned the loss through an Instagram post. He wrote, “We lost a beautiful man and inspiration to all of us drummers. Prayers for your family and loved ones you will be remembered and celebrated.”
