British singer Ed Sheeran returns to Instagram with a cryptic post after his short absence due to ‘turbulent things going on in personal life.’

Ed Sheeran is back on social media after being absent for two months, explaining why he paused sharing stuff with his fans through a video on Instagram. The Shape of You singer said, “I realize I haven’t been that engaged in my social media or my fan base online over the last couple of years,”

“The reason I’m making this video is, just being totally honest, I’ve had some turbulent things going on in my personal life so I just didn’t really feel like being online and pretending to be something I’m not, when I wasn’t feeling like that,” adding “and I know that sounds weird.”

The songwriter promised his audience surprises to anticipate, saying, “Weird s**t is gonna start being posted.”

Although Ed Sheeran didn’t detail the turbulence and social media break, he is no stranger to shutting down spotlights, including his full-year break after his album’s Divide two-year tour, which was released in 2017.

He also considered leaving the music business when his wife Cherry Seaborn gave birth to their first child Lyra commenting, “Music is entirely me as a person,” on SiriusXM (2021) and added, “And then I had my daughter — well, my wife had our daughter, but I’m a parent. And then I was like, ‘That’s it, this is me, I’m just going to be a dad, I’m not going to play music anymore.'”
