HOLR is sitting down to chat with award-winning actress, producer, and stunt performer, Elena Sanchez.

Elena Sanchez is making waves in 2025 with the debut of some highly anticipated projects.

She stars alongside Jeremy London and David Kallaway in Bone Face, a chilling murder mystery set in a small-town diner where a sheriff and deputy are on the hunt for a masked killer. Set to release on VOD later this month on January 21st, the film combines suspense and thrilling twists, with Sanchez’s portrayal of a dedicated deputy at the heart of the action. But that’s not all—Sanchez also brings her impressive stunt work to Captain America: Brave New World, premiering theatrically on Valentine’s Day 2025.

In this exclusive Q&A with HOLR Magazine, Sanchez opens up about her role in Bone Face, her experience in the Marvel Universe, and the exciting direction her career is taking.

You’re starring in Bone Face alongside Jeremy London and David Kallaway. Can you tell us about your character and what drew you to this role in such a suspenseful, thriller-filled setting?

I play a deputy opposite Jeremy London, and most of the film takes place in a small town diner where we are trying to solve some murders. David (who is a good friend of mine) plays one of the patrons in the diner, who we suspect of being the serial killer. Ever since I watched Knives Out a couple of years ago, I’ve wanted to do a murder mystery, so I was excited to get the call for this one. I also got to work with a bunch of my good friends, so that made it super fun.

The premise of Bone Face centers around a small-town sheriff and deputy investigating brutal murders. How did you prepare for such an intense and emotional role, especially in the face of the film’s darker themes?

To prepare myself for the role, I first became very familiar with the script and also did some research on police officers. I wanted to play the role naturally and asked myself, “How would Elena react in this situation?” At the same time, I kept in mind that I would have the training and skill as a police officer to not let my emotions interfere with the job I had to do.

With Bone Face being released on VOD in January, what do you hope audiences take away from this chilling mystery?

Most of all, I hope audiences are entertained for a couple of hours while watching this one. Also, it’s always good to be reminded that things aren’t always what they seem, but you’ll have to watch it to see what I mean!

You’re also working on Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World, and it’s exciting that you’ll be showcasing your stunt work. What was it like to be part of the Marvel Universe, and can you share any behind-the-scenes moments from working on such a high-profile project?

I’ve been lucky to be a part of several Marvel films, and they’re always a great experience. I can’t share much about the new Captain America, but I was excited to get to work with a bunch of my friends, which is always a treat! We got to work on a couple of big scenes together. Also, Harrison Ford is such a legend. Getting to see him work was really special.

Looking ahead, how do you see your career evolving? Are there specific genres or types of roles you’re eager to explore in the future?

Right before the holidays, I wrapped up on a thriller called The Neglected, where I play a detective opposite Josh Duhamel. We also had Dylan Sprouse, Jason and Jeremy London, and Til Schweiger in the cast. I’m looking forward to doing more thrillers and action movies, but also want to try something lighter, like a romantic comedy or a Christmas movie! I’ve also started producing in the last couple of years so I’m looking forward to doing more of that as well.
