Pete Davidson Opens Up About His ‘Horrible’ Tattoo Removal Experience
January 31, 2025: Pete Davidson has found the process of removing his tattoos “horrible”.
Pete Davidson Regrets the Pain of Tattoo Removal
Pete Davidson is known for his extensive collection of tattoos, many of which hold personal significance. However, in recent years, the comedian and actor has been undergoing the painful process of tattoo removal—and according to him, it has been nothing short of “horrible.”
Davidson, who once proudly displayed over 100 tattoos, has been working on removing most of his ink for professional reasons. However, while getting tattooed can be an exciting experience, removing them is a completely different story—one that he now admits has been far more painful than he expected.
Why Pete Davidson is Removing His Tattoos
Pete began the tattoo removal process in 2021, explaining that he wanted to simplify his look for his growing acting career. Since many of his tattoos required hours of makeup to cover during filming, he decided to start fresh.
In past interviews, Davidson joked about how his tattoo choices were often impulsive, leading to some regrets. However, he never imagined that the laser removal process would be so brutal.
“Horrible” Pain and Long Process
During a recent conversation, Davidson described the experience as “horrible” and “worse than getting them in the first place.” Laser tattoo removal involves breaking up ink particles under the skin with intense pulses of light, causing significant pain, redness, and scarring.
Unlike getting a tattoo, which can take minutes to hours, removal requires multiple sessions over several months or even years. The darker and more detailed the tattoo, the longer the process takes.
Despite the discomfort, Davidson is determined to complete the process. So far, he has successfully removed many of his tattoos, but some are still a work in progress.
Will Pete Davidson Stay Tattoo-Free?
While Davidson is committed to removing most of his ink, it remains to be seen whether he will resist getting new ones in the future. The comedian has a history of spontaneous tattoo decisions, especially when it comes to relationships.
Fans have seen him dedicate tattoos to past partners, including Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian, only to later remove them.
