In his witness statement, Harry claims that Mirror Group Newspapers illegally obtained his voicemails when he was a teenager studying at Eaton and that this caused him to develop “acute paranoia” supposedly feeling that he “couldn’t trust anybody”.
He adds that this caused strain on his relationship with Chelsy Davy saying, “I always felt the tabloids wanted me to be single, as I was much more interesting to them and sold more newspapers.”
Furthermore, he says that their actions caused a threat to him and his wife Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry Testimony
A representative for Mirror Group Newspapers had formerly issued an apology to Prince Harry for a prior incident. Now, MGN’s lawyer says that the journalists’ actions were not “all unlawful” though he expresses his sympathy.
Harry is the first member of the royal family to appear in court in over a century. He is due back in court tomorrow morning.
