Netflix’s WWE Raw Has Its New Women’s Champion – Rhea Ripley Beats LIV Morgan in Stellar Match
January 7, 2025 – 28-year-old Rhea Ripley wins her second WWE Women’s Championship after defeating LIV Morgan with a powerful pinfall.
WWE Raw debut on Netflix brought back many household names onto the big screen, including The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker, but the wrestling show-stealer was most certainly Rhea Ripley, the new WWE Women’s Champion.
Rhea Ripley Becomes Her True Self “The Nightmare”
Rhea Ripley, whose real name is Demi Bennett, is a professional Australian wrestler who signed on to WWE in 2017 when she was only 20. Though her talent was already apparent in her early years, her real wrestling power has become more apparent. And so has her true personality!
As reported in The National, Ripley said she started out as a “shy”, straight-haired blonde looking for her place in the wrestling community. Soon, she realized that that wasn’t who she truly was and decided it was time for a change. Now, she has turned into a black-haired, tattoo-towing, dark make-up-wearing “Nightmare”.
“I love being creepy and being dark and I love Motionless in White,” she reported to The National. “That’s just stuff that I like. So why don’t I bring it into work as well?”
Free and truly herself, Ripley has charged ahead of the competition.
Ripley Takes Revenge on LIV Morgan and Wins the Championship Title
Monday’s match marked the third time that Rhea Ripley and LIV Morgan would clash during a WWE Women’s Championship. The months leading up to their fight were filled with tension and upsets, with Ripley even being momentarily out of commission after having received an orbital injury when LIV Morgan and another female wrestler, Raquel Rodriguez, faced her in the NXT parking lot.
But soon, Ripley was back for revenge and faced Morgan in arguably WWE Raw’s biggest episode to date. Ripley’s win was a show-stopping spectacle of relentless riptides and an arena-shaking beatdown. After incapacitating Morgan, Ripley sauntered off-stage to celebrate and found none other than The Undertaker riding up on his motorcycle to congratulate her. Together, they celebrate Ripley’s second WWE Women’s Championship victory.
