Rihanna, who is expecting her second child with husband A$AP Rocky, attracted attention on Saturday night with a controversial attire choice while dining at the exclusive Caviar Russe, a New York City restaurant with seven Michelin stars.
Rihanna wore a Chanel outfit while sharing her outing on Instagram, paying respect to Monday’s Met Gala theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Thing of Beauty.” The look pays tribute to the late German fashion designer who oversaw Chanel from 1983 until his passing in 2019.
White glasses with the Chanel emblem, a black and white faux fur top hat, a black cropped jacket with white trim, and a white faux fur mini dress were all part of Rihanna’s ensemble. The mother of one-year-old Noah completed her look with a pair of huge, bejewelled earrings and a pair of black and silver strappy sandals.
Rihanna’s look practically guarantees her appearance on the Met Gala red carpet on Monday. Rihanna will attend the 2023 Met Gala for the eleventh time, her first appearance was in 2007 when she was 19 years old. She has continued to leave her impact on the Met Gala over the years.
Given that she co-hosted the 2018 Met Gala with the theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” Rihanna’s appearance there will always be remembered. She was one of the best-dressed guests and cemented her position in Met Gala lore when she wore a custom silver completely beaded minidress, cloak, and mitre by John Galliano.
Rihanna is starring in the forthcoming Smurfs movie in addition to preparing for the arrival of her second child. On Thursday at CinemaCon Day in Las Vegas, the singer pleasantly shocked the audience by revealing that she will be lending her voice to Smurfette.
