How is Shannen Doherty doing with cancer?

Shannen Doherty shares with fans an update on her health. On Tuesday the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star posted on her Instagram a video of her eyes filled with tears as she receives radiation treatment. Doherty explains in the caption that she had a CT scan on January 5th that showed brain metastases. She mentions that the video she posted the day before shows her getting a mask fitting that she has to wear during the brain radiation treatment. The 90210 actress began her radiation on January 12th.

Shannen Doherty expresses her gratitude towards the great doctors and techs at cedar sinai that have been helping her through her cancer journey. “I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.”

How old was Shannen Doherty when she got cancer?

In 2015, Shannen Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 44 years old. After her initial diagnosis, Doherty received eight rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatments and a single mastectomy. But, in 2017 she was in remission.

In February 2020, Shannen Doherty tells Good Morning America that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. “It’s going to come out in a matter of days or a week that — I’m stage IV. So, my cancer came back. And that’s why I’m here. I don’t think I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways.”

Shannen Doherty reveals the reality of a cancer patient and acts as a role model in fighting against cancer. In 2021, Doherty proves her strong will to fight against cancer with her response to a question if she made a bucket list after her diagnosis. The Heathers actress expressed that “There’s no bucket list because I’m going to be the longest-living person with cancer.” She further explains saying, “If I had to say one, it would just be living. That’s the only thing on my list at this point.”
