Taylor Swift fans trigger 2.3 magnitude “Swift Quake”

Taylor Swift’s fans “Shake It Off” at the Seattle concert on July 22 and July 23 shows. Taylor’s enormous fan base literally made big waves according to seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach. The “Swift Quake” supposedly caused a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. The “Swift Quake” has been compared to the 2011 “Beast Quake,” which occurred after running back Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch scored a spectacular touchdown. According to Caplan-Auerbach, the celebration that followed was registered on the same local seismometer as the Swift concert.

The Western Washington University geology professor reported to CNN, saying, “I grabbed the data from both nights of the concert and quickly noticed they were clearly the same pattern of signals. If I overlay them on top of each other, they’re nearly identical.” But the Swifties fan base is too strong and has beaten the NFL fans. Although there was only a 0.3 magnitude difference between the two, the Swift Quake’s “shaking was twice as strong as ‘Beast Quake’. It absolutely doubled it.”

Both dates supposedly sold out at the Lumen Field where she performed, making Swift the first performer to sell out Lumen Field on back-to-back nights. Her upcoming Eras Tour shows continue Friday night in Santa Clara for a couple of nights and then off to Inglewood for six shows. In November, Swift will be heading to Mexico and South America.
