As mentioned in the TikTok video, fans of the series are allegedly pointing fingers at Pankow’s girlfriend, Elaine, alleging that he left the series to focus on having a healthy relationship. In this recent article by HOLR Magazine, there are allegations swirling that Elaine was “uncomfortable” with Pankow and Madison Bailey’s scenes together as the pair played love interests on-screen. As a result, there are claims that Elaine became jealous which subsequently caused Pankow to want to leave the series, eventually being killed off in Season 4. However, this has not been confirmed as there are claims that Elaine is actually close with the cast.
There were also rumors surrounding Bailey and Pankow having a tense relationship in which speculation surrounding stunt doubles being used for on-screen romance scenes were controversially called into question. However, this has also not been officially confirmed.

Does JJ actually die in Outer Banks?
Pankow’s character, JJ, dies in Season 4 of Outer Banks. The dramatic episode showed JJ being killed at the hands of his biological dad, Chandler Groff, in which he subsequently dies in girlfriend, Kiara’s (Bailey), arms, as outlined here, in Life&Style.
This shocked fans of the series who were surprised to see Pankow’s exit from the show.
However, as some commenters from the above TikTok video alleged, Pankow reportedly signed a 4 season contract for the show which led to his death on-screen reportedly making sense. This seemingly debunks rumors that Elaine had something to do with his seemingly sudden departure.
