According to this TikTok video posted by user @popculturebrain, Crazy Rich Asians 2 is reportedly finally happening.

As the TikToker notes, the sequel to the popular 2018 film is allegedly in the works. World of Reel- based on Production Weekly- is reportedly claiming that Crazy Rich Asians 2 will supposedly begin filming in Malaysia and Singapore in early 2025.

According to the TikTok video, Director Jon M. Chu as well as the two central stars- Constance Wu and Henry Golding- will reportedly be making their return in the sequel. Amy Wong will allegedly be writing the screenplay based on Kevin Kwan’s novel, China Rich Girlfriend. As a result, it is expected that this new movie will reportedly follow Constance Wu’s character (Rachel) as she tries to find her birth father.

There are also claims that Michelle Yeoh and Awkafina will also reprise their roles in the sequel although this has yet to be confirmed. It is alleged that the movie would likely make its way to the screens in late 2025 or early 2026 depending on how early filming wraps.
