It’s no secret that out of all the different Housewife cities, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are in a league of their own when it comes to fashion.

Although Erika Jayne and Dorit Kemsley from RHOBH are most known for their outfits and glam teams, The Real Housewives of Orange County started it all in 2006.

The First Housewife Inspired Fashion Trend

In the very first episode of RHOC, fans were introduced to the Sky top! Writer, Brian Moylan known for his Housewives recaps, described it as a “halter top blouse, embellished with sequins, rhinestones, and even giant medallions around the wearer’s silicone-enhanced décolletage.” The original cast members promoted the show wearing these tops and Vicki Gunvalson, who is known by fans as the “OG from the OC” wore several in the premiere episode alone. The point is, The Real Housewives are known for setting trends!

1. Dorit Kemsley’s Season 9 Reunion Hair

At the 2019 reunion, Dorit reinvented the bobby pin. Dorit’s head is full of bedazzled pins, which she pairs with a sleek ponytail and metallic dress. This is sure to be one of Dorit’s most camp moments thus far. Some of the pins are even in the shape of words, for instance, “Vibes,” “Glam,” “Drippin’,” “Bo$$,” and “Icon”. While some fans would argue that Dorit is the most fashionable, others believe that she can be a bit extra at times. However, she has designed a line of luxury wedding gowns alongside Australian bridalwear designer Nektaria Karantzi and has even been featured on Vogue. She must be doing something right! The hairstylist behind Dorit’s look is Justine Marjan from Bravo’s Project Runway.

2. Erika Jayne’s Confessional Looks

Prior to the legal issues surrounding Erika and her soon to be ex-husband, Erika was a fan favourite because of the way she dressed. Being one of the first housewives to have her own “glam team” she paved the way for many divas to come. She is responsible for turning the word ‘glam’ into a verb. A confessional is a type of aside in reality television where a cast member is speaking directly to the camera. Erika and her “glam team” named this confessional “The Artistic Look”. Fans were genuinely in awe of this Moschino ensemble and it’s one of Erika’s many 10/10 looks.

3. Lisa Rinna & Erika Jayne Accidentally Wear the Same Dress

Best friends, Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne hilariously attended a season 10 dinner party wearing the exact same Rotate Birger Christensen dress. It was a genuinely hysterical moment seeing them realize that they were identically dressed. What was even funnier was seeing the jealously on the other ladies’ faces because our “pink ladies” were stealing the spotlight! Those hot pink dresses are legendary as far as we’re concerned.

4. Lisa Rinna’s Season 11 Reunion Outfit

Lisa wore a purple, form fitting, leopard print Alex Perry dress to the 2021 reunion. Like Erika, Lisa was once a fan favourite. However, she has evolved into a villain over the years. This outfit is so iconic because it legitimately looks like a costume from the new Batman film starring Robert Pattinson. Perhaps this way her way of auditioning for a role in the sequel! In all seriousness though Lisa absolutely nailed this look, regardless of the public’s perception of her.

5. Dorit in Head-To-Toe Designer

Dorit has without a doubt fallen victim to logo mania. Logo mania is a trend where individuals have obvious branding all over their clothing. Dorit is often wearing clothing with the designer’s monogram, whether the brand is Gucci, Dior, or Louis Vuitton, she doesn’t discriminate brand names. The women on these shows fight  for the spotlight. A trick that Dorit uses to guarantee camera time is what I’d like to call the “Lady Gaga Approach”. Which is basically to dress with the intention to turn heads. Fans are always anticipating Dorit’s next outfit because she’s always outdoing herself.
