The book, ‘It Ends With Us,’ by Colleen Hoover, has received over 2M reviews on Amazon with an average rating of 4.5 stars. The story is currently making its way to the big screen! Blake Lively will portray Lily Bloom, a small-town florist, and Justin Baldoni will play Ryle, the neurosurgeon she falls in love with, according to a video Hoover posted on Instagram on Thursday. The movie’s direction is also by Baldoni. There is no stated release date.
According to the reports, Sony Pictures is developing the movie, and Baldoni will executive produce and direct it under his Wayfarer Studios production company. Along with Hoover, Andrew Calof, Steve Sarowitz, and Lively, she is also an executive producer. According to a press statement from Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures, other producers include Alex Saks and Christy Hall, who is writing the script.

The book synopsis states that “Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.”
With more than 20 million volumes sold last year, Hoover is currently the best-selling novelist in the United States. He wrote five of the top ten bestsellers in every category. The New York Times bestseller list for “It Ends With Us” has been on for more than 90 weeks, and it was the best-selling print book by the end of 2022.
Blake Lively’s Directing Career
Lively, who is best known for her roles in the movies “A Simple Favor” and “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and on the TV show “Gossip Girl,” made her directing debut with Taylor Swift’s “I Bet You Think About Me” music video last year.
“I finally got to work with the brilliant, brave, & wickedly funny @blakelively on her directorial debut,” Taylor teased on social media. “Join us as we raise a toast, and a little hell.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Gossip Girl alum will be directing her first film ‘Seconds,’ which is an adaptation of the same-named graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley, who created Scott Pilgrim.
Justin Baldonia as Co-Producer and Director
According to a press release, former “Jane the Virgin” actor Baldoni is one of the co-founders of Wayfarer Studios, whose goal is to “create purpose-driven, multi-platform film and television productions that elevate and speak to the human spirit,” according to a press release. Through the banner, he recently directed 2019’s “Five Feet Apart” and 2020’s “Clouds.”
