Following several rumours that claimed the Oscar-winning actor’s condition had gotten worse, Jamie Foxx‘s daughter revealed on Friday that dad has been out of the hospital for weeks.
Corinne Foxx, Foxx’s daughter, posted on Instagram stating that her father is doing well. Sharing “update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support.
Following an unnamed “medical emergency,” Foxx, 55, was admitted to the hospital on April 11, a spokeswoman revealed last month. “His condition was serious enough that Jamie’s family, some of whom were not in town, came to the hospital,” said the spokesperson. “He is communicating right now.”
According to the representation, Foxx was in Atlanta at the time of his hospitalization working on the film “Back in Action” alongside Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.
Earlier on April 12, Foxx’s daughter wrote a post on Instagram stating that “luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
In an Instagram post on May 3, Foxx, who had spent weeks in the hospital, said, “Appreciate all the love!!! Am grateful. Several of Hollywood’s greatest names responded to the post including Ellen DeGeneres, who wrote “I’m sending you love on a daily basis.”
With his portrayal of renowned musician Ray Charles in the biopic “Ray,” Foxx quickly rose to the A-list in Hollywood. Foxx won the 2005 Academy Award for best actor for his performance in the role. Foxx has a daughter named Corinne Foxx with ex-wife Connie Kline. He also has a daughter named Annalise Bishop, whom he had with Kristin Grannis.
