Mint, an integrated agency located near Trinity Bellwoods in Toronto, has added woodworking to its long list of services. The agency recently launched Benchie, the picnic bench for squirrels, which is now available for purchase with all proceeds going to the Daily Bread Food Bank. The initiative, inspired by mint’s fluffy-tailed neighbours, aims to help bring a smile to people’s faces while also supporting critical hunger-relief efforts in the GTA.

Benchie, handcrafted by mint’s CEO, is the perfect addition to any backyard or cottage. Set it up on a fence or tree, sit back and enjoy a smile as your furry friends take a seat and chow down.

Why is an agency building squirrel benches?

“While working from home, we’re trying to keep the agency connected as much as possible. Benchie was born from an ongoing email thread joking about how we missed seeing the white squirrel near the office every day,” says Jordan Fogle, Founder, and CEO of mint. “The joke quickly morphed into this crazy, lighthearted idea and became a way to give back to the city that has given us so much.”

Benchie tables are available for $25 on benchie.ca. Wood for Benchie was generously donated by Barnboard Store. Benchie is available for curbside pickup only at the mint office near Trinity Bellwoods.  For more information or to download the instructions to make your own Benchie, please visit benchie.ca.
