Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are under fire for Petty’s recent actions on a TikTok live. The couple were in a music studio on Friday and decided to go live on TikTok. However, the live took a turn when Kenneth made a derogatory remark about some people watching the couple’s live. While Nicki told her fans not to let people steal their joy, KP added his two cents to the conversation. “That’s right, especially little f****** or f*** boys,” Kenneth said, and immediately, fans were not happy.
While many fans are mad at Kenneth, they are equally angry at Nicki because of how she handled the situation. After he said the slurs, Nicki didn’t call out Kenneth for his behavior. Many of the Barbz (Nicki’s fan base) are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Many fans said it was a sign Nicki didn’t care about her fans because she failed to defend a group of people who supported her immensely.
This incident isn’t the first time Kenneth has done something controversial. Petty was forced to register as a sex offender in California in 2020, stemming from his 1995 first-degree attempted rape conviction. The couple welcomed a son the same year Petty had to register as a sex offender, leaving fans less than pleased with Nicki for her decision to have Petty as her partner. No one in the couple’s camps has commented on the current situation.
