MAYER is a progressive label that answers the call for locally made slow fashion with pieces designed to be worn by men and women. The brand’s sophisticated, one-of-a-kind designs are impeccably tailored in high-quality fabrics to last a lifetime. Limited edition collections also allow clients to maintain their unique personal style. As a result, the line blends key elements of street style and luxury for a chic and effortless look.

Overall, the brand’s mission is to empower people to live freely and express their individuality. As a result, this is a perfect collaboration. This is because, throughout the design process, Ross and Ross worked together to create stage-worthy looks that would be featured throughout season #14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Therefore, these are the ideal pieces designed to express one’s unique individuality.

The Style Journey

This style journey began in February 2020 when Mathews was in Toronto promoting his latest book
“Name Drop.” After seeing one of Mayer’s signature sequin bombers in the audience on the MAYER co-owner Alexander Sinardo, it was love at first sight.

In early 2021, Mathews reached out to Mayer and asked if he could create something unique that he
could wear on RuPaul’s Drag Race USA. Mathews was seeking a fresh new look for himself that felt
casually effortless but still with a big impact; he joked that “Sequins are a Drag Race neutral.”

The Collection

This is a truly unique collection and collaboration. Integrating unorthodox fabrics into the looks to elevate them, the design collaboration took the direction of core streetwear staples and resulted in a glam luxe meets street style.

In this regard, the collection consists of athletic-inspired sequin sweatshirts and flashy bomber jackets which perfectly align with the brand’s genderless market.

The authentic collaboration has been rewarding for both parties and garnered brand exposure
throughout North America and the world with more special projects in the works for 2022 and beyond.

Giving Back

In order to give back, partial proceeds will be donated to Rainbow Railroad. This is a Canadian charitable organization created to save the lives of LGBTQI+ people around the world.
