The ‘Addams Family’ deflection has surpassed a record set by ‘Stranger Things,’ establishing its position as the streamer’s next hit.

Wednesday on Netflix debuted with a bang. With 341.2 million hours seen after its Nov. 23 premiere, the fantasy series starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams is at the top of the Netflix Top 10 TV ranking for the first week.

It currently holds the Netflix record for the most English-language TV series hours watched in a week. That impressively surpasses Stranger Things 4, the previous champion. Stranger Things 4’s first seven episodes saw a peak of 335 million hours of viewing during its first complete week on the service and second week in the Top 10.

Squid Game currently holds the record for most hours watched on Netflix, clocking up at 571.8 million during its busiest week. Wednesday is currently No. 1 in 83 countries, a record it shares with Stranger Things 4. Additionally, it has reportedly been seen in more than 50M households, according to Netflix.

The series follows Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White), Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Naomi J Ogawa, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, and Riki Lindhome also appear in the series. Christina Ricci, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Fred Arimisen, and Isaac Ordonez also appear in the series. Tim Burton directed and executive produced Wednesday, along with creators/showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar.

With 87.9M hours viewed, 1899 is ranked No. 2 on Netflix’s Top 10 for the week of November 21–27. Dead to Me Season 3 won another 33.3M hours viewed, knocking The Crown down to third with 42.36M hours viewed.

The remaining list, in order: Manifest Season 4 (21.6M hours), Manifest Season 1 (15M hours), Pepsi, Where’s My Jet? (14.16M hours), Manifest Season 3 (12.26M hours), Warrior Nun (11.97M hours), and Dead to Me Season 1 (11.94M hours).

Elite Season 6 ranked first among non-English language series with 48.27M hours watched. With 32.2M hours viewed, Til Money Do Us Part is in second place, and Under the Queen’s Umbrella is in third place with 18.08M hours viewed. On the list are Reborn Rich, The Unbroken Voice, and Chiquititas.
