The 80th edition will miss a couple of Hollywood’s A-lister stars due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The 2023 Venice Film Festival is all set to take place from 30 August to 9 September 2023. However, due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike that coincided with the Writers Guild of America strike. So the million-dollar question this time is, will it lose its charm?

If we talk about the line-up, 23 films were selected for the Venezia 80 competition, which is the main international competition. Out of all, we will feature the five best movies that we are looking forward to.

The Killer – Directed by David Fincher, Michael Fassbender plays an assassin. It also stars Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton.

Ferrari – This is a biography of Italian race car driver and entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari, played by Adam Driver. It is directed by Michael Mann. It’s his first film in eight years.

Maestro – Maestro is a love story of American composer Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein. Played by Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan. Cooper has also directed it.

Evil Does Not Exist – Straight from Japan, this is the story of a single father, Takumi and his young daughter Hana, living a simple life in a rural village outside Tokyo. Until a corporate plan to pose a threat to nature and villagers. The film stars Hitoshi Omika, Ryo Nishikawa, Ryuji Kosaka and Ayaka Shibutani. Directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi.

Priscilla – The film focuses on the romance between Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley. It is based on Priscilla’s memoir “Elvis and Me,” directed by Sofia Coppola. The film stars Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi.
