Brandon Sklenar hopes “It Ends With U” fans can focus on something other than the current drama surrounding the film. Sklenar posted a lengthy message to his Instagram earlier today addressing the rumors currently swirling online about the film. He called the current comments online “disheartening” and noted how they were detracting from the proper awareness that should be spread about the movie.
“Vilifying the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and detracts from what this film is about,” he wrote on Instagram. Sklenar refers to the current rumors about the drama surrounding the movie’s other stars, Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Fans have been arguing online about who they “support” amid rumors that Baldoni and Lively were feeding following the movie’s release. However, Sklenamovie’s that the back-and-forth between supporters is counterproductive. The overall message of the movie was already controversial to many. However, there are ways to highlight the issues in a positive way. Sklenar urges audiences to speak up and help others who have been victims of domestic abuse. Hopefully, showing the movie wasn’t “highlighting” domestic violence, but it can be used to fuel awareness.
