Lizzo responds to fat shamers

Lizzo calls out the fat shamers that have been abusing Lizzo on social media. On Wednesday, the American rapper posted about the abuse she’s been experiencing.

On Twitter she tweets, “I JUST logged on [to] the app and this is the type of s*** I see about me on a daily basis.” Below the caption is a repost from Youtuber Layah Heilpern who tweeted a video of Lizzo’s tribute to Tina Turner. In the tweet, Heilpern bashes Lizzo about her weight and diet.

Lizzo further explains in the tweet saying, “It’s really starting to make me hate the world. I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bullshit.” With all the criticism she receives about her weight, Lizzo says she feels like quitting her music career. In a subsequent tweet, Lizzo wrote, “Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F–KING FARM.”   To protect her from all the toxic messages, Lizzo has set her Twitter account to private.

As an escape from her haters, she’s out here to “get up, get out and get some sun”. Lizzo takes her feelings to TikTok. Lizzo said, “Today was one of those days where I was very angry,” Lizzo said. “Very angry at the world. I saw a lot of mean s— about me on the internet, and I wanted to give up. There are days where the hate outweighs the love so badly that I wanna quit music and disappear.”
