This past Sunday the second annual 2023 Legacy Awards were held, honoring incredible talents such as; Jully Black, Tonya Williams, and Director X, among others. The award ceremony is dedicated to celebrating black excellence in Canada, as outlined by Sinor Reporter at CBC News, Idil Mussa. The night was filled with powerful speeches and amazing performances. It also honored incredibly talented Black Canadians.

Who founded the Legacy Awards?
The Legacy Awards was founded by brothers Shamier Anderson and Stephan James. It was created to highlight incredible Black Canadians in the industry.

At this year’s award ceremony, Black was slated to receive the Icon Award. Black is a Juno Award winner.
