However, a head injury curtailed his surfing career, prompting him to pivot towards the family business in real estate. At just 18, Tyler obtained his real estate license and began working alongside his father, John Stanaland, at Douglas Elliman.

Personal Life and Public Scrutiny
In March 2020, Tyler married actress Brittany Snow. However, their relationship faced challenges, particularly after incidents on “Selling the OC” where Tyler was involved in off-camera interactions with co-stars, including a kiss with Kayla Cardona. These events contributed to their separation in September 2022, with Brittany filing for divorce in January 2023. The divorce was finalized in July 2023.
Return to Family Roots
Following his departure from the Oppenheim Group in October 2023, Tyler rejoined his father’s real estate team at Douglas Elliman. This move marked a return to his foundational roots in the industry, focusing on luxury properties in Orange County.
