Erratic Behavior Leads to Arrest
On April 8, 2025, Osment, 37, was reportedly behaving erratically, prompting the ski patrol to intervene and local law enforcement to step in. During his arrest, body camera footage captured Osment making antisemitic remarks and using inflammatory language toward officers.
Charges and Upcoming Court Date
Following the arrest, the Mono County District Attorney’s Office announced that Osment has been charged with two misdemeanors: public intoxication and possession of cocaine. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on July 7, 2025.
A Public Apology for His Actions
In a public statement, Osment expressed deep regret, calling his behavior “absolutely horrifying.” He attributed his outburst to an emotional breakdown and acknowledged the hurt he caused, particularly to the Jewish community. He stated that he takes full responsibility for his actions and is committed to making amends.
Personal Struggles in Recent Months
Osment’s personal life has also been tumultuous. In January 2025, he lost his home in the devastating Eaton Fire that swept through Altadena, California, which added to his emotional stress.
A Troubled Past Revisited
This isn’t Osment’s first encounter with the law. In 2006, he faced DUI and marijuana possession charges after a car accident, resulting in probation and mandatory rehabilitation programs.
