Paralympics Paris 2024

Paralympic Athlete Hunter Woodhall has won the gold medal in the men’s 400 meters. What made the moment even more special was the moment he shared with his wife, Tara Davis-Woodhall. Both Tara and Hunter won their first Olympic golds this year; Tara is in the Olympic games while Hunter is in the Paralympic. The couple has been going viral for the enthusiasm and the celebrations they gave each other after winning.

On Aug. 8th, after Tara won gold in the women’s long jump, she ran over to Hunter in the stands for a hug and a kiss. She practically jumped into his arms as they shared a long hug. Then, Hunter won the men’s 400-meter T62 race on Sept. 6th. Hunter was disappointed after not placing in the men’s 100 meters earlier in the week. However, he said he used it as an opportunity to do better and push himself harder for the men’s 400 meters. The couple celebrated his win with a tearful hug, celebrating that they both were now Olympic gold medalists.

The couple says these moments helped keep each another “grounded” as their dreams came true. When they reunited after each competition, they told each other, “We did it,” and, “You won,” Woodhall says. “‘You are the Paralympic champ,’ or ‘You are the Olympic champ,’” he recalls. “We’ve been through this whole process together, so there’s no one I would rather want to see first after such an incredible performance,” Hunter said. The internet is celebrating with the couple and a huge congratulations to them both.
