Excitement is high as Wednesday star Jenna Ortega is reportedly going to host the 48th season of Saturday Night Live in March. We have news on who else will be hosting in the same season as her and who has been chosen as the musical guest for SNL.

Jenna Ortega‘s Next Career Milestone

Jenna Ortega has shared through her Instagram post that she will host an upcoming  March 11th SNL episode, together with the alternative band The 1975 who just recently released their new album Being Funny in a Foreign Language. Ortega is not the first young actress to host the live comedy show as other Gen Z celebrities, including Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, have also made an appearance at the SNL. Ortega’s scheduled hosting of SNL coincides with the release of a new movie she is staring at, Scream VIwhich as noted by NBC will be in theaters starting March 10th.

Other Hosts for SNL Season 48

As reported by Vanity Fair, Travis Kelce of Kansas City Chiefs fame will also host SNL. The football player, who brought his team to victory during the Super Bowl match against the Philadelphia Eagles, will appear on March 4th alongside musical guest Kelsea Ballerini. Kelce is yet another football player to be invited to SNL, as Eli Manning and Tom Brady were also previously invited.

On February 25th, SNL fans can expect actor Woody Harrelson to be the next host, and rocker Jack White will also give a musical performance on that day. Both Harrelson and White have been on SNL before and this will be their fifth appearance.

Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Co-Stars Reaction

As can be seen in a video uploaded by Access Online, Jenna Ortega’s fans are not the only ones thrilled with the news of the young actress hosting SNL. Her co-star in the Netflix series Wednesday, including Riki Lindhome (who played the therapist Dr. Valerie Kinbott) and Hunter Doohan (who played Tyler Galpin), have also shown their massive support.

Ortega has admitted in an interview with Access that she “[tries] not to pay too much attention to what’s going on” but also “definitely have felt the shift in [her] life” and that “the way things are operating now is really strange”. She also revealed that she is happy her show has brought people joy and been “giving people an escape from reality”. A second season of Wednesday is currently in the works.
