Kaitlin Bristowe posted an explosive two-part episode this week with Comedian and Bachelor Rush Hour host Dave Neal discussing Bachelor Clayton Echard’s paternity case. Here is a recap of what was discussed in the episode and what allegedly transpired between Clayton and Jane Doe. For those who aren’t familiar with the case, Bachelor Clayton Echard was accused of fathering twins after a one-night stand with a woman that allegedly only involved oral sex. Following the interaction Clayton told the woman that it was a mistake and that he didn’t want to pursue anything with her in the future. The two met after the woman reached out to Clayton on Linkedin and asked him to represent her as a real estate agent and show her some properties. Then after one bad decision Clayton’s life was turned upside down with this legal case where this woman claimed he was the father of her twins.
Jane Doe now has a new lawyer who has publicly revealed her name on his Twitter account.

After Clayton told the woman he believed their encounter that one evening was a mistake, she reached out to him 11 days later claiming that she was pregnant. While he said this was not medically possible as they only partook in oral sex, she allegedly pressed on that she was in fact pregnant and that he was the father. She then allegedly drafted up a contract for him to sign, whereby if he dated her “with intention”, she would abort the baby. Clayton refused her proposal and on August 1st, she decided to take him to court to establish a parenting plan and revealed that she was pregnant with twins.

Based on the publicized court documents and court hearing videos, the womans name is Laura Owens. In one of the public court hearing videos published on youtube, Jane Doe can be seen rubbing a pregnant belly over zoom. As the case unravelled and as seen in the court documents, which are published online Clayton’s legal team has requested to see medical records or proof of pregnancy that wasn’t altered ultrasound images, but so far to no avail. Laura alleges the proof of medical records were requested from the wrong location and that is why there was no evidence of her history at the clinic. The case is currently ongoing and it is believed the next hearing is set for June 2024.

In the latest court hearing from documents filed on March 11th, 2024, it shows that Jane Doe revealed that she had a miscarriage of two fetuses that would have been between 19-24 weeks old but that she did not go to a doctor or the hospital. She alleges that she spoke to a telehealth nurse and that she sent images of the fetuses to the person she spoke to at telehealth but no evidence of this has been produced as of yet. The court paperwork also showed that Jane Doe sent an email to Clayton’s lawyer which displayed signs of extortion. In the email Jane Doe told Clayton’s lawyer that she would sue him for close to 1.4 million in a civil case for him not representing her as a realtor and allowing her to purchase two properties that she wanted so she is claiming losses. She also added that she would not file this lawsuit if Clayton dropped all charges.
What Does Jane Doe Look Like
While Jane Doe initially wished to remain anonymous, she went public with her story with articles on Medium where she has a photo of herself attached to her writing profile. It is believed she has since deleted Instagram but she still has a website that is live and has written other articles like on February 14th 2024, where she criticized Clayton for posting a video of himself celebrating that he is not in fact expecting twins, which he has been fighting to prove all along. Laura Owens new lawyer Dave S. Gringas has since also publicly revealed Laura Owns name on his Twitter as can be seen in the screenshot above.

While Dave Neal had his own legal troubles with Jane Doe, he does not disclose her name on Kaitlyn’s Podcast as a means to protect himself. But as she has published her own story online with her real photo attached, her name is already out there publicly and associated with the Clayton Echard paternity case. The Kaitlyn Bristowe podcast episode takes a deep look at the intricacies of this case. Clayton is allegedly not the first person to have been in this situation because of this woman.
