Porsche invited me to test drive the Taycan Turbo S for a few days – full transparency, I was given a similar offer a few months prior to test drive the Porsche Cayenne. After driving the Cayenne for a few days, I fell in love with the car and bought one a month later. Prior to driving the Cayenne, I would not have considered myself to be a luxury car person.I was planning on buying another domestic vehicle as I had always done in the past.  After driving the Cayenne there was absolutely no doubt I needed to buy one. When Porsche offered me the opportunity to drive the Taycan, I was somewhat reluctant because I was having so much fun driving my new Cayenne – frankly I didn’t want to park my Cayenne for any period of time to drive the Taycan.

After further consideration I decided to take Porsche up on their generous offer to drive the Taycan for a few days. The four days I spent driving the Taycan was unbelievable!!  I love, love, love this car. I really don’t have a deep understanding of cars so I won’t be able to offer much information about all the obvious awesome features the Taycan has to offer, that said, you simply can’t drive this car without immediately becoming aware of the 751 hp it has to offer. My jaw hit the ground within a few moments after takeoff. This surprised me, I really didn’t anticipate there would be so much power driving an electric car. I tend to drive very conservative, however every once in a while when the need for speed this car performs like a jet airplane on the runway. When merging on the highway, the time it took me to go from low speed to 100 km/h was ridiculous.

If you are anything like myself and prefer to move around inconspicuously, the Taycan is not the car for you. I truly felt like a celebrity driving this car. I received so much attention it became normal for me to smile back at the driver beside me when stopped at a light or when getting in and out of the car. Even though the Taycan is pure luxury, the subtle design of a Porsche vehicle doesn’t make you feel ostentatious when driving this car. If you are looking for an electric vehicle you should consider taking the Taycan for a test drive.
