Princess of Wales Eurovision

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, which the U.K. hosted, had its grand final on May 13, and it featured a surprise performance: Kate Middleton playing the piano, E! News notes. The U.K. hosted the contest for Ukraine, which was last year’s winner.

The official Instagram account of Prince and Princess of Wales posted a video of Kate Middleton playing the piano. ”A #Eurovision surprise ? A pleasure to join @kalush.official in a special performance of last year’s winning @eurovision entry. Enjoy the show, Liverpool ?”, the caption reads.

Kate Middleton played a piano piece that was aired as part of the contest’s opening film. According to E! News, the musical was a ”10-second instrumental piece, composed by Joe Price and Kojo Samuel”.

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest’s winner was Sweden. Loreen, who represented the country, participated with her single Tattoo and won with 583 votes, The Independent mentions.

Eurovision 2023 was the most watched grand final in the contest’s history, with a record of 11 million people watching Loreen’s performance, BBC notes. After last night’s win, Loreen has become the first woman to ever win Eurovision two times, The Guardian adds.
